Some new gear

When I got the bike out of 29 years of storage last year, I just drug out my old riding gear.  As the new riding season is quickly approaching, I treated myself to some new stuff!

First up was a replacement for my aging Simpson helmet.  I bought the Simpson way back in the 80’s when I was drag racing bikes.  It’s been a great helmet, but I only have a very dark visor that I can’t use for nigh-time riding.

HJC CL-17

After looking at lots of lids, I picked the HJC CL-17 in black.  I’ve read reviews that said the helmet was quite noisy, but not any more than I’m used to with the Simpson.

I really like the quick change visor system and all the vent options.  You can seal it up on cold mornings and open it up in increments as the day warms up.

Next up was a true four season jacket / pants combo from from REV’IT!  I got a great close-out deal from Revzilla on the Vapor Air Jacket and pants.

This outfit is great when it either too hot, or too cold for my leathers.

.

Both the jacket and pants have removable insulated liners.

The liners are great when the temps drop below 50 degrees.  From 50 to 70 just wear them without the liners, and when the temperatures get warmer, unzip the sleeves, front, and back to expose the mesh for flow through ventilation.

Last but not least is the tail bag from Chase Harper.  Chase Harper gear has a lifetime guarantee the build quality shows it.  I got the 550 sized bag as it fits well on both the CB550 and the CBR250R.
