My wife, Terri, and I rode this bike all over the tri-state area before we had children. It was advertised as a “Super Sport” bike, but it is so smooth it makes a great touring bike too. In fact, when the 1981 model came out, it was sold as a touring bike with bags & fairing.
At any rate, we found the CB550 just a bit too small for all-day two up touring. This bike was a fantastic upgrade! Not wanting to spoil the bikes looks, we had a full set of soft bags, (saddle, tank, and tail), that came off an on easily.
